I met Krista in my freshman year of college. She was a bio major who liked English classes, and I was just a run-of-the-mill English major. I liked her a lot. She shot my senior photos. After that, we’d check in with one another from time to time but ultimately lived our lives.

When Richie and I got engaged, I first thought about photos. Of all my fabulous artist friends, Krista was the obvious choice. I’ve followed her work for years and have loved the intimacy and mood she brings to each couple while shining a loving light on each couple’s personality. Why choose anyone else?

I reached out to her about shooting the wedding and was met with so much enthusiasm. I told her, “The wedding is witchy, but make it fashion.” She told me, “Say less.”

She pushed us towards the most inclusive photo package she has, which includes an engagement session shoot. I’m so happy we decided to have her do that. Our engagement photos were taken on Winter Island in Massachusetts, and the interplay between the fanciness of our clothes and the natural roughness of winter scrub was captured so perfectly. Witchy, but make it fashion. When we saw those photos, we knew we had picked the right person to shoot our wedding.

Finally, it was the weekend of the wedding. Krista stayed in our neighborhood where we got married to ensure she was on hand without running the risk of getting stuck in traffic. Those sorts of professional touches speak to Krista’s dedication to her clients. 

Krista came with us for our rehearsal dinner at our favorite Japanese restaurant, which is a little dark inside. There wasn’t time to worry about the photos, and there was no need. Krista made those rehearsal dinner photos shine and captured the warmth of our families. When the wedding party headed back to the house to set up for the wedding, Krista spent the evening capturing her signature detail shots of our rings, floral arrangements, clothes, and all the items we so lovingly selected. When she was done with that, Krista photographed the making of our wedding, which was full of such movement and life. A lesser photographer would have missed out on these memorable moments. She gave so much of her time, and that made us feel not just taken care of as clients but cared for as friends.

The next morning, while the world unraveled into a special sort of wedding chaos, Krista jumped into the flow and was somehow everywhere at once. She took photos of the bridal party and me, but she was willing to shift to the groomsmen when I let her know how important the photos of Richie getting ready were to me. Krista is very good at telling couples what to do for the best results, but she also cares about what the couple wants. 

Her eye is good, though, and she knows where to find the best pictures. After the ceremony, Krista captured my favorite picture of the day: Richie and I both cried alone when we realized we were, in fact, married. It was intimate, and I’m so happy she got it. 

From there, the day went on so quickly. Drinking, dinner, dancing. She was there for all of it. I have photos of myself with both parents for the first time since I was a child. Richie has photos with his family members who have never met, despite his parents having been married for 30 years.

Krista’s virtues have been lauded: competency, talent, care, perfectionism, artistry, warmth, and ease. I would like to say that Krista is funny, and that translates to her work. She takes herself seriously, but she isn’t pretentious. That lack of pretension makes it so easy to trust her. Trust is what makes good photos. Well, more than that. Trust makes art.

You see, Krista is not your typical wedding photographer. She is an artist. Her work, not just the photos from our wedding, is art. Every subject is beautiful, and that beauty is highlighted. Not just anyone can do that.

Receiving the photos was truly a beautiful experience. Walking through the chronologically was like living the wedding in a way we didn’t have a chance to do on the day. The album feels like a love letter to our relationship. I love everything Krista did with the editing and the lighting, and, and, and.

I am lucky enough to know Krista from college, she even shot my senior pictures, but when it came to my wedding, bringing her to Nebraska seems like it was too big of a dream. When Savannah and I began the wedding planning process, my #1 stressor was finding a photographer who is 1) queer friendly and 2) exceptional. As a photographer myself with years of photoshop experience, I was very picky about composition and style while also concerned with our overall comfort in front of the camera. Right off the bat, Krista made us feel at ease - like we all had been best friends since college. She took note of editing I normally do before publishing photos and the "fun" shots we like. There are not enough nice words for the job that Krista Miller did on our Engagement and Wedding photos. To begin, Krista took the time out of a personal trip to Savannah Georgia so she could take our engagement photos in a place where I grew up. She captured the most beautiful shots full of our personality and love. She framed the gorgeous background of the city for our portraits and delivered exactly what I asked for. We had so much fun with her that day that I knew we had made the right decision to have her photograph our wedding. On our wedding day Krista was AMAZING! She captured the most beautiful day in a way that shows off our personalities and emotions. She captured Berry College’s amazing campus as a perfect canvas for our wedding photos. When looking through our photos we cried, laughed and got the warm and fuzzies reliving the most important day in our lives thus far. My favorite phots of the day are with my 91 year old grandfather. A month before our wedding he had been placed on hospice care and we thought he would not be able to make the trip. He surprised me by being at our rehearsal dinner and told me he had been working extremely hard so that we could dance together at our reception. He passed away a month after our wedding and the photos of he and I dancing will forever hold a special place in my heart. I can’t recommend Krista enough for anyone who is looking for a photographer with a beautiful eye and heart. We made a life-long friend in Krista, who is not only incredibly talented, but an incredibly awesome person.

We are so thankful Krista was available to photograph our wedding! We began our planning just before Covid hit, and she helped us plan and replan to make sure our day was perfect and special. It's hard to overstate how big a role Krista played in making our wedding day magical. When you hire Krista, you're getting a motivational speaker, set director, styling consultant, grandparent wrangler, amateur seamstress, professional driver, military-grade scheduler, and more -- all for the price of a wedding photographer. They say you spend more time with your photographer than your groom on your wedding day, and that is basically the case; with Krista, however, the occasionally uncomfortable experience of posing for thousands of pictures feels fun and effortless. When we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to prioritize a photographer we saw eye to eye with creatively, and someone who we would want to be around on our special day. We picked a historic hotel with a lot of potential. Seeing Krista’s dramatic, moody, artistic, and lively work, we knew she was going to create magic.

Krista made it so much easier even from the start. We immediately received a helpful guide for different timelines with some pointers. We had meetings to discuss style, wants, and the beginnings of the timeline. Once we had more figured out, she really helped us nail down the timing and logistics. Her experience really shined! We were able to set a realistic schedule that made sure Nick and I had important moments throughout the day with each other and our family as well as plenty of amazing photos. 

On the day of, she was beyond professional and just the best. She was timely, respectful, and kind to our families and the other vendors. Krista was our friend making us laugh, giggle, and play around… who just so happened to have a camera. My husband and I both don't usually like pictures but Krista made all the difference. 

While we were on our honeymoon the following week, she was already sending us gorgeous sneak peeks that made us tear up!! Now we have an ABUNDANCE of photos that are all incredible. Even the pictures of us walking around the venue or having a quiet moment turned out to be magical. I cannot thank Krista enough for capturing our day. Using Krista as our wedding photographer was by far the best decision we made for our wedding. To say she was amazing would be an understatement. From the very beginning she was great with communication and very personable. She did our engagement photos and hiked out in the snow and took gorgeous pics. It was so fun that it felt easy and relaxed and our pictures turned out better than I imagined. She was great at directing us without anything feeling engineered, everything looked and felt natural. She then designed the greatest book using a great combination of the photos that really captured who we are as a couple.

Then at the wedding she was our literal angel. She prepared a timeline in advance to make sure we got all the pictures we wanted but still got to make spending time with each other and our guests a priority. She also ended up helping coordinate the wedding more than our actual wedding coordinator. She ended up being a safe place for me on the day of the wedding and there is absolutely no way I could have gotten through the day without her. She made sure we had everything we needed and had breaks throughout the day. I was anxious and stressed about the day and she helped me relax and calm down and get to enjoy it. The best parts of our day were created by Krista. 

She was incredibly creative with her pictures as well. She was able to get romantic pictures and fun ones and really captured who we are as a couple. She took time to scout out places that would be perfect for photo settings that really went with our theme and who we are as a couple. She went above and beyond and even talked staff into giving us a champagne bottle to open and she captured it all. I not only have pics, but a GIF from our wedding thanks to her. 

Our wedding day was far from perfect but when I look at the many photos krista took I only remember the fun parts of the day and the beautiful moments I got to have with my husband both before and after we married. 

I emphatically recommend using Krista, she is so much more than a photographer. She is your coordinator, your therapist, your support and your biggest cheerleader.

You’ve probably heard multiple times by now to “splurge on a photographer”—while we agree with that advice,  we’d like to modify it to say “splurge on a photographer that you like—one who cares about your day as much as you do.”

I realize that’s a tall order. Inquiring with vendors is exhausting, but there are a few you should spend some extra time vetting. You will spend the entire day with the person who photographs you, so get to know them and make sure you like them. 

We met Krista through the wedding planning duo we hired, Wild Social Micro Weddings. She was on their list of preferred CO photographers. We live in NM and were on the fence about a NM vs. CO wedding, so thought we’d test the waters with CO vendors-see if any of them “felt right.” We had no idea where to start in our search, but the second we looked at her website we were drawn to her unique style. Her photos weren’t just “wedding photos”-they felt more like art. 

Our first inquiry call was actually a FaceTime getting to know each other. The introvert in me dreads things like this, but I found it easy to talk with her. My husband and I quickly knew Krista had to be the one to capture our story. We discovered that she is 100% invested in every couple she takes-and that is not an understatement. She is a full time PA and very intentionally works with couples that she is invested in. She will care about you and your day above anything else. 

From helping us plan details we had not thought of (her wedding guidebook is chef’s kiss) navigating our first wedding venue falling through at the last minute, sending me a gift card to a local spa to relax amidst the chaos, and just being a shoulder to lean on & providing sound advice when needed, she was the photographer and forever friend we had no idea we needed.

Krista is personable, professional, and edited thousands of photos in record time for us (again on top of a full time job and other destination weddings). She scouted our NM venue for the perfect photo ops, encouraged us to take photos in a unique never-been-done area in Taos, NM, and helped to make our day run smoothly, actually chauffeuring us around herself. 

I can honestly say that our day would not have been the same without her. I don’t have all of the words to truly do her work justice-just know this woman is magic and we are so damn lucky to know her.

Engagement:
When researching Photographers, I basically just looked at their pictures and prices and moved on. I couldn't find a whole lot of difference in either their photos or costs for the whole affair; but once I tried calling any, I got a whole different feel. I was not impressed. 
I remembered my friend Lisa saying that she loved the photos Krista had taken at her wedding even more than the ones her hired photographer had taken. I went to her site and thought the photos were great! Contacting Krista proved easy and she was very clear with pricing and very happy to be available when we were also available. 
I was a little nervous about the shoot because I'm usually somewhat awkward when I have to sit around and have pictures taken of me; but from the first few minutes that we were all at the venue, I knew it was going to be more fun than I thought. Krista was great at putting us at ease and letting us just have a good time, she had great suggestions for shots and also took and ran with our suggestions as well. The pictures turned out great and everyone has commented on how happy and natural my fiancé and I look in them. We definitely wouldn't have looked like we were having fun... if we hadn't been. It's so great to know that pictures of our engagement and wedding, that will be around for a LONG time, will be great ones that we enjoy the memory of. Wedding:
Working with Krista for my wedding was one of the easiest things I did. She was helpful, fun, upbeat, and so easy to get along with. “Best wedding vendor ever”. We picked Krista after having her do our engagement photos; which she rocked. Then I asked her to do my boudoir photos….which obviously also rocked! She’s probably the only person I would ever be comfortable doing that with just because of her fun and relaxed demeanor. So we weren’t even slightly worried about wedding pictures. That was really nice considering we were worrying about everything else. On the day of, she was prompt and had the schedule in mind for the whole day. She was very professional and made everyone feel at ease while we were all rushing around trying to look pretty, smile for pictures, not freeze, and maybe not let the wind blow us all away. Krista made sure to stay within the schedule for the whole day, while also keeping the lighting and the venue in consideration for the beauty of the pictures. We had a blast working with her and just knew they would turn out wonderful. We got the pictures so quickly after the wedding and besides getting to see a ton of beautiful ones on Facebook, we also got all of the full size pictures on a thumb drive. THIS IS AMAZING. We basically ran out of room in our house for pictures. Thank you so much Krista for helping to make our special day as great as it was and also being as great as you are at making us feel like it was just as important to you to have the pictures be wonderful. Where to begin… One of the best decisions we made was choosing Krista as our photographer. There is so much to say about her professionalism and quality of work.  My husband knew Krista through work before our engagement, so after we got engaged it was a no brainer we wanted her to photograph our wedding day. We first saw Krista’s work tagged on our wedding venue social media page. We noticed herability to use natural lighting in an outdoor setting. Krista freakin Miller. That’s it, that’s the review. But in all honesty, having Krista as our photographer was such a blessing. She is so personable, professional, and for sure to be found twerking during dance time. Krista was a volleyball teammate of my sister’s since middle school, so she’s known me since I was in the third grade. She is a multi-talented individual (musician, athlete, photographer, health care professional) and excels at all of it. She shot my senior photos in Rome, GA in an abandoned industrial park and blew me and my family away! She will do anything (stand on top of a rusted truck, in prickly bushes,climb through broken windows, etc....) to get the shot! She has a vision and will let nothing stand in her way in order to make that vision a reality. She has since become a cherished friend of the family.
Shortly after I got engaged, I asked Krista for a recommendation for a photographer because she had since moved to Denver and was no longer doing “traditional-sized” weddings. Thankfully, she immediately threw her hat in the ring and said that she would be honored to fly back to Atlanta to capture my wedding. In addition to being our photographer, she was our wedding planner in the early phases, providing a list of vendors (event coordinator, DJ, hair, makeup) and thus assembled the “dream team.” What a difference it makes when the venue and all of your vendors know one another, enjoy working together, share the couple’s vision and then execute to perfection. Krista was the catalyst for all of that! She is quirky, hilarious, has an incredible, artistic eye and is a consummate professional. Her attention to detail is unmatched. She worked closely with the coordinator to perfect the timeline so that we weren’t rushed and were able to capture every single moment. She began “dropping” photos within 12 hours of the wedding’s end. She superseded every expectation with her photos. Our friends and family have been awestruck by the moody, editorial-type shots she curated throughout the day. She managed to make us all look like rock stars. At the end of all of the planning and once the big day is over, all you have left is the photos that captured all of the moments in your special day and we will cherish these fantastic glimpses forever. Photographyis an investment, but is the one thing that will stand the test of time. We had a special request— we wanted Krista to fly out to our wedding venue in Snowmass Village, Colorado. She obliged without missing a beat. We’ve known Krista for several years, she’s shot several weddings for friends and family that we have attended, so we knew we were in good hands. Despite arriving in Colorado the day before the wedding and it being her first visit to Snowmass, she did an amazing job with all of our photos and we are so glad she was able to fit us into her busy schedule. Her photos really speak for themselves, but it is also worth noting that neither of us are natural at posing and she was able to work around that, giving us plenty of direction, and the end result had us looking great. All of our guests were more excited for the photos than anything else as the wedding day went on. Leading up to our wedding, Krista made sure we gave her all the information about what types of photographs we could want, and looked over our timeline. The day of, Krista went above and beyond. She is not afraid to climb on things, crouch down, and overall look silly to get a perfect shot. She got our list of must have photos we had written out beforehand and even arrived early. We also had a very quick turn around from our wedding day until we got our photographs, with plenty of sneak peaks along the way! We received so many photographs that had a perfect combination of black and white, colors, candid and posed shots. No matter how excited you are to do a boudoir shoot, it can still feel intimidating to take off your clothes in front of the camera. Krista was such a great boudoir photographer because she helped me to feel comfortable and confident. As the shoot went on, I felt more and more at ease and trusted her completely to take beautiful pictures. I was blown away by the results---and my husband was too!

Krista was the best decision we ever made!! She absolutely went above and beyond – she was incredibly easy to reach through the whole process, helped us with suggestions for other vendors, and she actually scoped out the streets around our venue beforehand in order to get the most creative pictures of us in our city on our wedding day. Everything was efficient yet fun and stress-free for all of us and the pictures are beautiful. We had so much fun going back and forth with the bloopers too which is a plus. After the wedding, we are locked up quarantining and bored, and a wooden “photo album” arrived in the mail. It is gorgeous. Krista and her husband made us a beautiful album (see pic below) and mailed it to us – what a nice touch!! Would recommend her to anyone and everyone!

I first met Krista in 2016 when we were PA students. She and I had actually gone to the same college for a few years prior, but our paths never crossed. However, I saw her pictures online through mutual friends and wondered if I would ever have the honor of meeting Krista.
